I received an e-mail from the United Cerebral Palsy Association in Washington DC asking me to post this invitation to their conference in June. The conference is aimed to envision a new future for people with disabilities and help individuals live a life without limits. There will also be an introduction of a new program - “My Child without Limits,” that will be aimed to help parents of disabled children ages 0-3 years have the resources needed to raise happy, healthy, well-informed children. The conference will also spend some time on the political disability issues in the upcoming election, as well as social networking within and outside the community.

Elise's birthday party is on Sunday and she turns one on Tuesday. Where did this year go?
I hope she likes her party dress I made her.
I am absolutely in love with this fabric.
Don't forget to enter the giveaway. The winner will be randomly drawn on Monday!

I have a number of points of business, so listen up!
1. Don't buy the Scrubbing Bubbles Shower Cleanser. By the time we finally stopped using it, we had mildew growing in our shower. Now, the glass, it looked fabulous. The tile, not so much.
I don't know if you can see it in the photo below, but those black spots, mildew. And all that pinkish scum I'm assuming is from our water, but it washes away with a little scrubbing. OxyClean = Luv4Eva
2. May is coming up and it is an important month to me and my family. Why? It is Preeclampsia Awareness Month and if you don't already know, both of my daughters were born early (Darsie at 28-weeks and Elise at 34-weeks) because to preeclampsia. I am still working out the logistics of how the raffle will work (if you have any knowledge on this part, help a girl out), but I will be raffling off a baby quilt that is currently in progress. The top has been machined-pieced of 100% cotton. It is currently basted to a polyester batting and a 100% cotton backing and is in the process of being machine-quilted. I used a thin batting so this quilt will be perfect for warmer Spring and Summer temperatures.
100% of the money that this quilt manages to raise, whether it be $1 or $1,000,000 will go to the Preeclampsia Foundation.
The quilt, in progress.
A close-up view of the front of the quilt.
Another close-up view.
This is the back of the quilt, 100% white cotton. This showcases the machine quilting that I am doing on it.
A work in progress.
3. Next post, I'm giving away a felt pizza!

I post a pizza and then *poof*, I up and disappear! So sorry.
I have lots of updates and gossip...I just have to mentally organize it and craft it into posts.
Update #1. I have an etsy shop, complete with two pizzas listed. I did the crust a little different on these two and it doesn't have quite the dimension of the original pizza. If the first pizza was a pan crust, this is a thin crust. Still cute though. I ordered a whole bunch of pizza boxes and those should be in in the next week or so. Once they are here, I'm going to sell the pizzas in the boxes, so the price will go up a little bit.
Update #2. I'm going to do a giveaway. Stay posted.
Update #3. The shower thing, it sucks. I will update in another post about that though.
Update #4. Elise's birthday is at the end of this month. We are doing a Mexican fiesta type thing because that is her favorite food (these days though, it is anything she can shove in her face at a rapid pace. Can you believe that TWO people have asked me if she has an eating problem in the past month? RIDICULOUS. She is tiny!).
Update #5. I sewed a quilt. I promised this to Jeff's uncle last year this time. In fact, it is the reason I originally bought a sewing machine. I love it and want to steal it. I used the colors because he is a huge Harley fanatic. They are somewhat Harley-ish, huh? I backed it with a really sweet floral print, just so he might learn to embrace his feminine side, or maybe so he would send it back? It just seemed right.
I'm sure there is another update but uploading those photos and whatnot made my mind blank out. More soon! Shower update coming!
