I used to make fun of Britney Spears...

I used to make fun of Britney Spears because of that interview where she couldn't remember how many weeks pregnant she was, but lately I'm finding myself in the same predicament, only I can't remember what my due date is...June 11th or 12th?

With Darsie I seemed to know how many weeks pregnant I was down to the millisecond and this time around I just don't have enough brain cells left or time to know that I am...9 weeks and, oh wait...10 weeks and 2 days.

So, anyways, the news on the street is that Darsie is going to be a big sister.

Hot Diggity Dog!

It is amazing how fast two weeks can go by before you realize you haven't blogged!

Not too much is going on around our parts. D was casted for a new orthotic last week at PT. It was kind of crazy...they actually put a cast on her leg and then cut it off. From there it goes to DAFO (the company) where they fill it with plaster and create the orthotic around that.

Her OT also gave her another brace for her hand. Her thumb has gotten really tight and she isn't using it too much.

And on the poop front, Darsie is now only getting bottles at night and sometimes first thing in the morning. With the less milk intake (she won't drink milk from a sippy) she isn't have so much constipation issues.

And in fact, this morning Darsie went potty on the toilet! I guess she is starting to show some interest in it.

I forgot all about Darsie's two year appointment!

In typical fashion of my family, it was a month late. I thought doctors were supposed to send out reminders or something? How in the world is a first time mom supposed to know when her daughter needs to be seen?

Anyways...

22 lbs.

32 inches long.

49 cm head.

Best of all, Darsie is ON THE CHARTS! Weight is at 5% and height is at 10%.

Time to get back into the swing of things

It is Fall here in the Pacific Northwest, so all excuses of a busy summer are invalid. It is time to get back to blogging!

Actually, there is not too much going on with Darsie at the moment. She was given the go-ahead for speech therapy a couple of weeks ago. We are now just waiting on the therapists to add her to their schedule.

She started attending a "preschool" with the therapy center in September. So far she has not let me leave her so I have been attending preschool every Tuesday and Thursday with the munchin and I have to say it has been a lot of fun. I have a feeling my days are "numbered" as she is starting to get more independent and play with the other kids a bit more.

Darsie has really impressed me with her "heart" and how she likes to help out the other kids. There is a little girl in her class that also has CP but a much more involved case. This girl is in a chair and requires a lot of assistance. For gross motor all of the kids go to the gym to play with balls, run around, chase each other, you get the idea. Well, we all started to get ready to go, and Darsie goes to help push this other little girl to the gym. Darsie has such a kind heart for a two year old. She is just amazing.

I want to thank everyone that has continued to follow this blog despite my absence as of late. I am going to do my best to post weekly, if not more!

Happy Fall! It is beautiful here in the Pacific Northwest and I count my blessings everyday that I am lucky to live here.

No photos...just great news.

Darsie is WALKING!!!!!!!! Alone, no hand holding, no screeching, just plain and beautiful walking!

Unbeknownst to us...she must have been practicing in her crib late at night (I would actually believe this if somehow each night we didn't end up together in the recliner).

Today she just took off. She can walk at least 30 feet, pause midstep, turn around, walk up and down ramps, walk over uneven surfaces. It is like she went from trying to walk to almost running in about, oh, half a second.

So, YEAH DARSIE!
